A young Slovak hiker was trekking with a larger group from Nagy-Hideg Hill towards Csóványos when she stepped badly and sprained their ankle. Despite the injury, the hiker continued, believing it wasn't too serious and that they could finish the hike. However, after leaving the Csóványos area, the pain in their ankle became unbearable, so she, along with a companion, separated from the group and headed toward Foltán Cross, while calling the Börzsöny Mountain Rescue Service for help.
Two on-duty rescuers immediately set off for the Foltán Cross, where they met the injured woman and her companion.
After examining her, the rescuers found that it was a minor ligament injury, which, while currently causing significant pain, fortunately had not resulted in a tear, nor was there a bone fracture. The hiker declined the offer to notify the ambulance service and undergo a hospital examination, and the mountain rescuers transported her to her nearby accommodation by vehicle.
