On the last day of the year at 11:30 AM, a distress call came in via the Börzsöny Mountain Rescue Service SOS hotline. A hiker reported that a woman in their group had fallen seriously ill near the Julianus Lookout.
The mountain rescue dispatcher immediately alerted the National Ambulance Service. Meanwhile, two rescuers departed from Szokolya, and another team member, who happened to be hiking nearby, also headed toward the scene.
Near the Julianus Lookout, rescuers found the woman in distress, who was experiencing rapid breathing, an elevated pulse, and severe dizziness. Paramedics suspected a heart-related issue, making it urgent to get her to a hospital as quickly as possible.
The mountain rescuers carried the woman by hand for a short distance to reach the off-road vehicles, where she was handed over to the National Ambulance Service. Notably, one of the paramedics on-site was also a member of the mountain rescue team.
The paramedics transported the woman to Vác Hospital for further medical examination and treatment.
