Injured Cyclist on Nagy-Hideg Hill (2025.10.31.) - 20251031 nhh cser

At around 1:30 p.m. on Friday, the Börzsöny Mountain Rescue Service received three consecutive reports about the accident: first from the local forestry unit of Ipoly-Erdő Ltd., then from the operator of the Nagy-Hideg-hegy Mountain Lodge, and finally from a relative of the injured cyclist.

The man had been riding along the Blue Square hiking trail, descending from Nagy-Hideg-hegy towards Királyrét, when he fell and injured his shoulder.

Two mountain rescuers on standby at the rescue base in Szokolya immediately responded while maintaining continuous coordination with the Hungarian National Ambulance Service to determine the best meeting point and timing.

Fortunately, the accident site was accessible by vehicle, allowing the rescuers to reach the injured cyclist within a short time.

After carrying out an initial assessment and providing first aid at the scene, the rescuers transported the injured man to the Cseresznyefa parking area, where an ambulance from the Hungarian National Ambulance Service was already waiting.

The ambulance crew then transported him to the hospital in Vác for further examination and treatment.
