Shortly after midday on Saturday, the Börzsöny Mountain Rescue Service was first called to assist an injured mountain biker near the Királyrét Buffet. The young man had lost control on a gravel forestry road and fallen, suffering multiple abrasions. As he had also struck his head, the mountain rescuers decided, as a precaution, to transport him to Vác Hospital for medical evaluation.

While returning to their base in Szokolya, another emergency call came in—this time from Naszály Mountain. According to the report received through the 112 emergency number, an elderly woman had fallen and was believed to have sustained serious injuries. The Pest County Directorate for Disaster Management dispatched both the Vác Professional Fire Brigade and the Börzsöny Mountain Rescue Service.
Initially, the casualty's exact location was unclear. Fortunately, the President of the Hungarian Cave Rescue Service, who happened to be hiking nearby, was able to locate the woman and send her precise GPS coordinates directly to the mountain rescuers. This significantly reduced the search time.

Using the mountain rescue service's off-road vehicle, the firefighters were able to travel along a forestry road before continuing approximately 150 metres on foot through dense vegetation to reach the patient.
After examining the injured woman, the paramedic from the mountain rescue team suspected a pelvic fracture. She was carefully immobilised on a spinal stretcher before the evacuation began.

The mountain rescuers and firefighters then carried the patient together on foot back to the forestry road, where they handed her over to the Hungarian National Ambulance Service.
The ambulance crew transported the woman to hospital for further examination and treatment.
