On Sunday morning, the SOS line of the Börzsöny Mountain Rescue Service received a distress call: a hiking group requested help because their 69-year-old companion had suddenly fallen ill and fainted. According to the caller, the woman was sweating, her pulse was low, and although she regained consciousness, she still felt dizzy. They tried to continue their way toward the Juliánusz Lookout, but were unable to, so they called for rescue.

The dispatcher immediately alerted the mountain rescuers on duty, who set out in the service’s off-road vehicle, and also notified the National Ambulance Service.

The rescuers were able to drive their vehicle directly to the woman, so no special equipment or stretcher was needed. While her condition was stable, she continued to feel weak and dizzy, so the rescuers transported her to the Köves-meadow parking lot, where they met the ambulance crew from Szob.

The paramedics examined the woman and then transported her in stable condition to Vác Hospital for further tests.
