The caller explained that he had been hiking with his family on the slopes of Vár-hegy, following the red-marked trail near the old cellars, when his mother took a bad step and apparently broke her ankle. He also said that he had already contacted the Hungarian National Ambulance Service, but believed that the assistance of the Mountain Rescue Service would also be needed to transport the casualty from the mountainside to the ambulance.
Three mountain rescuers departed from the Service's Szokolya base five minutes later.
On arrival at Királyrét, they made contact with the Hungarian National Ambulance Service crew, who had arrived in the meantime and had already begun treating the injured woman.
Once the ambulance crew had stabilised the casualty and immobilised the injured limb, they worked together with the mountain rescuers to carry her to the ambulance parked nearby.
The Hungarian National Ambulance Service then transported the woman to the hospital in Vác for further examination and treatment.
