On Thursday, the industrial climbers of the Börzsöny Mountain Rescue Service successfully completed the repair works at the Csóványos lookout tower. Last Friday, the Ipoly-Erdő Zrt. had to close the tower to visitors because its lightning protection system was damaged.
Due to the necessary parts procurement, immediate repairs were not possible, so unfortunately, last weekend, hikers couldn't enjoy the beautiful Börzsöny view from the tower.
The members of the mountain rescue service's industrial climbing team started the damage restoration on Thursday morning. For the duration of the work, the entire area around the Csóványos lookout tower was closed for safety reasons with the cooperation of the mountain rescue team and Ipoly-Erdő Zrt. The repair works were completed in the early afternoon, and after that, the tower was reopened.
